Communication and virtual reality
It is used by millions of people
everyminute. For many people the Internet is a "room" that is situated somewhere behind their computer screens in a cyberspace. Though the Internet exists for about a decade it has become the medium of the new network society. The popular and commercial spreading of the Internet has been exceedingly significant - promoting changes in almost every sphere of human activity and society.
From the very beginning of the Internet in 1991, it has completely changed the way firms do business, as well as the way customers buy and use products and services. The Internet gives extra opportunities for marketing. The spreading of the Internet has been so impetuous that it has been the point for well-grounded analysis. The Internet, virtual reality, can or cannot have negative effects on our culture and society? This paper is concentrated on the Internet phenomenon and on the spreading of the Internet culture and its effects on people.
The first ideas appeared in the 1950s. In the 1980s, technologies that became the basis of the modern Internet began to spread worldwide. In the 1990s the World Wide Web was used all over the world. The infrastructure of the Internet spread all over the world and the modern world wide network of computers have appeared. It spread amidst the western countries, then came into the developing countries and created a worldwide admittance to communications and data and a digital divide in admittance to this new infrastructure.

While studying the amount of Internet users, the Internet had 30 million users on 10 million computers linked to over 240,000 networks in about 100 states. The last figures indicate the fact that International Data Corp values that 40 million people are home web users in the USA in 1999, which consists of 15% of the population. “Le Monde” in 1998 published that 100 million people use the Internet all over the world. Jupiter Communications estimates that active Internet users - 4 to 5 million USA customers - shop regularly on the Internet by 2000, which represents 3% of grown-ups.Finally, The Internet is a very attractive marketing tool with the possibility to customize pages, as well as new promotional systems, giving firms the possibility of communication and promotion effectively by adapting to consumers’ likings. Interactive traits of the Internet permit asking customers their likings, and then the firm can adapt product offers and promotions to these likings. It provides the effective recruit of new customers. For instance, some car manufacturers ask Internet users for concrete information and in return give potential customers a $1,000 discount coupon or a free CD player coupon

Students of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
Should university students be required to attend classes? Some people believe that attending classes should be optional for students, but really disagree with them about it. In do not understand how university students can expect to learn much knowledge if thy do not attend classes. Although, self-study is a good way to acquire knowledge, I am of the opinion that no matter they like or not, university students should be required to attend classes because of following reasons. In the first place, University students can acquire much knowledge when they attend classes. The professor can teach students a lot of things that are not written in the books. Books normal offer just concentrated knowledge. Therefore, the professor will clarify and expand knowledge; teach students the way of thinking, and the like. This expansion the students can not learn if they learn by themselves through the books. Sometimes, the professor can invite the guest speakers come to talk about some issues. They can have in common with students their experiences. Thus, by usually going to classes, university students can learn much knowledge that does not cover in textbook.
In the second place, attending classes, university students can learn more skills for their future life. In classes, the professor may require students to do teamwork. That means some students have to work together. As a result, they can learn some skills through their group assignment. They can learn how to deal with other people that their opinions are not the same. They have to their preparation to persuade others. They have to explain your ideas. This is communication skills. These skills are very important for students when they go to work in the future.
Moreover, going to classes can train university students to be more responsible and hard-working. Usually going to classes and keeping the schedule of classes require the effort of university students. That means they must learn their previous lessons at home and prepare for the next lesson. They have to arrange their time between attending classes and self-studying. If they want to be the best in their classes, they have to be responsible and hard-working and attending classes can train university students.
In conclusion, I think the university should require students to attend classes because the students can have much knowledge than they learn by themselves, learn more skills especial communication and team-work skill for their career in the future, and they will be responsible and hard-working. These are some advantages when students attend classes.

Advantages and disadvantages of the internet

Ten years ago, the Internet was practically unheard of by most people. Today, the Internet is one of the most powerful tools throughout the world. The Internet is a collection of various services and resources. According to Russ Brock, a director and consultant at the Center for Innovation and Inquiry, the Internet has main components are E-mail and the World Wide Web. There is a lot more to the Internet than E-mail, search engines, celerity web sites, up-to-the-second sports scores, and chat rooms full of any discussions. The Net also ranks as one of today is best business tools - if it is used adroitly. Almost all households contain the Internet; however, before people connect to the Internet, they need to be aware of its disadvantages and advantages.
Many fear the Internet because of its disadvantages. They maintain to not use the Internet because they are afraid of the possible consequences or are simply not interested. People who have yet connected to the Internet claim they are not missing anything. Today is technological society must realize, it is up to them to protect themselves on the Internet. Adults, or 94 million people, aren’t online because they are wasting their time when they using the internet.Children using the Internet have become a big concern. Most parents do not realize the dangers involved when their children log onto the Internet. When children are online, they can easily be lured into something dangerous. When children talk to others online, they do not realize they could actually be talking to a harmful person. As a result, there have been many cases where children have been convinced to meet people they have talked with online. In fact, stories seem to come out every week: a child or teenager lured into something foolish, dangerous, or even deadly online. Cathy Cleaver of the Family Research Council claims that it is against the law for a lured r to even attempt to find children online. In addition, children may also receive pornography online by mistake; therefore, causing concern among parents everywhere. Whether surfing the Web, reading newsgroups, or using email, children can be exposed to extremely inappropriate material. Pornographic sites tend to make sure they are the first sites to be listed in any search area; thus, children come across such sites easily. A man from Pearl, Mississippi was arrested in 1996 for downloading pornographic images of children from the Internet. He was charged with 290 counts of child pornography. Some critics say that parents are responsible for their own children on the Internet because there are available services to protect children. To keep children safe, parents and teachers must be aware of the dangers. They must actively guide and guard their children online. Parents should talk to their children about what is online and what might happen online, claims Howard Rheingold, writer of
